District Spanish is hosting a dance night for Spanish speakers, people learning Spanish, and everyone who enjoys dancing! There will be an instructor for the first hour to teach people certain moves and the second hour will be free dance. The instructor will be on site to help people who want to practice their fresh new moves! The woke mob is rising up! With an absolutely unhinged dedication to diversity, bodily autonomy, and democracy itself, we are undrainable swamp people who work hard every day to keep our home in the DMV culturally hostile to the fascists in power. And honestly? We deserve to have fun while we do it.
The Woke Mob Comedy Festival celebrates everything that makes this region the best, even as the rest of the country sends us its worst. We’re showcasing the DMV’s funniest comedians, especially highlighting BIPOC, women, LGBTQ+ and gender-queer performers, plus a few “prodigal” comics who got their start here before heading national.
It'll be hilarious, joyful, AND every show gives back! With our neighbors under attack, we're raising funds for local organizations that are helping some of our region's most vulnerable. A percentage of ticket sales from this show go to DC LGBTQ+ Center.

Brittany is a comedian, actor, and writer based in New York City. She began standup comedy in DC, and is now tours nationally as a growing headliner. Vulture Magazine has listed Brittany as a Comedian You Should and Will Know. Brittany’s debut special, That Is My Horse, is available on Youtube.
Brittany was Ars Nova Vision Resident for the 2024-2025 season. Her acting appearances include HBO’s Fantasmas (2024) and That Damn Michael Che (2022).
Brittany opens for headliners including Gary Gulman, Stavros Halkias, Moshe Kasher, and Todd Barry.
Brittany’s staff writing experience includes Season 2 of That Damn Michael Che on HBO Max, Season 2 of Teenage Euthenasia on Adult Swim, and Networking for Introverts on Audible. He's appeared on CBS The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Comedy Central Stand Up Presents: Anthony DeVito, Comedy Central's Adam Devine's House Party, was one of the “New Faces” at the 2012 Montreal Just for Laughs Festival, has been on "This American Life," AXS TV’s Gotham Comedy Live, and in 2022 independently released his latest special Brain Noise. He also released two albums Dream Occupation and Brain Noise. In addition to stand-up, he was a writer on Netflix's The Break with Michelle Wolf, wrote for the 2018 White House Correspondents Dinner, and was a writer/regular panelist on MSG's People Talking Sports and Other Stuff. He also has appeared on TV Land's The Jim Gaffigan Show and HBO's Pause with Sam Jay.

This event celebrates the kick-off for I'll meet you there, a four-part public art exhibition featuring a twenty-foot billboard truck showcasing video work by each artist, anchored with outdoor exhibitions at Hamiltonian and The Nicholson Project. The truck will traverse all quadrants of the city, with the first part of on view from March 16th through April 11th, featuring work by artist Stephanie J. Williams.

But one tool we have left that they haven't taken from us yet is humor. So we're asking folks to help thaw this mid-winter freeze by warming your hearts with some jokes for justice! Join local comedians as they raise money for César Chávez Dual Spanish Immersion Elementary School's PTO efforts to support families in the region who've been directly impacted by fascist governmental overreach.
Admission is "Donate What You Can," 100% of which goes to the CCDSI PTO ICE relief fund. City-State Public House is also offering $7 pints during the show, and they've generously agreed to donate 10% of those beer sales as well!

DC’s newest & biggest holiday market in the NoMa, Eckington, Edgewood & Brookland areas of NE DC (right off of the Metropolitan Branch Trail).
🚨The DIG DUG DIG Holiday Extravaganza is coming to the NoMa, Brookland, Edgewood and Eckington neighborhoods of Northeast Washington DC on Sat, Dec 20 & Sun, Dec 21, 2025.
We are pumped to team up with @citystatedc @metrobardc @lostgenbrewing and @bryantstmarket for this fest. We love that all four venues are in close proximity to one another. There will be plenty to do all weeken, so save the date(s) and tell all your friends!
We are kicking everything off with a parade at 9am to celebrate how incredible the District of Columbia and Washington DC area businesses, arts and music are and how vital they are to the city's heartbeat.
We’ll have many, many vendors onsite for your last minute shopping needs. There will be DJ’s, live music, a holiday themed fashion show for the dogs, a friendly competition between local area bakeries to see who can walk away with the BEST OF DC COOKIE award, workshops, food trucks and much, much more!

Canned Comedy is back for another night of laughs, treats, and holiday delight. Catch a fabulous night of local stand-up which giving back to the community too: instead of selling tickets, we ask that you bring two donations to support the Father McKenna Center, our partner for this event.
In addition to non-perishable donations we were collecting last month, this month, we are also taking winter accessories: specifically things like hats, scarves, and gloves. We will also be hosting a Christmas cookie/treat potluck before the show, so come enjoy a free snack while you're at it!
The potluck will run from 7-8 pm and we will have the show right after! See you at the show!

Josh Fadem is an actor, comedian, and voice artist originally from Tulsa, OK. He has numerous television credits including recurring roles on TWIN PEAKS for David Lynch, AMC’s BETTER CALL SAUL as "Camera Guy", FX’s RESERVATION DOGS, Showtime’s ON BECOMING A GOD IN CENTRAL FLORIDA starring Kirsten Dunst, and as Liz Lemon’s agent "Simon" on 30 ROCK. Other credits include Disney +'s LOKI, FX's IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA, and Comedy Central's RENO 911 and ANOTHER PERIOD. Josh can be seen in FX's new Sterlin Harjo series THE LOWDOWN starring Ethan Hawke and Dan Levy’s upcoming Netflix series BIG MISTAKES.
Josh has been named a “Comic to Watch” by Variety, Nylon Magazine, Comedy Central, New York Comedy Festival, San Francisco Sketchfest, and Playboy Magazine. He has performed at Montreal's Just for Laughs, Austin's Moontower Comedy Festival, Fun Fun Fun Fest, and SXSW, and Tulsa's Blue Whale Comedy Festival. Josh's work as a voice artist includes AMERICAN DAD, POWERPUFF GIRLS, ADVENTURE TIME and JEFF AND SOME ALIENS. As a writer, Josh wrote for the Emmy nominated ERIC ANDRE SHOW and has written for Funny or Die. Josh hosts a form-bending video podcast show called "Here Come the Details" which can be streamed and heard on Spotify and Youtube.
